YMCA Employment Service Coming to Lake of Bays

Beginning January 11, 2011, the YMCA Employment Service will be offering employment services in Baysville here at the Library! It's a terrific opportunity for those who find it a challenge to travel to Huntsville.

YMCA Employment Services at Baysville Library: the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00pm

Self-help job search resources such as

• computer with internet access and word processing program
• resume and cover letter templates
• job search web sites
• job search information
• access to an Employment Specialist via web cam (Mon-Fri 9am-4:30pm)

And an Employment Specialist will be on site twice a month to offer assistance in person in such areas as:

• resume and cover letter assistance
• job search advice
• career coaching
• job matching and job placement
• workshops also available on a pre-registration basis

National Film Board Comes to the Library

Village wise-women are alive and well throughout the Maritimes. The women often work at the kitchen table and today they're sought after more than ever. Using herbs, spells, astrology and simple tools such as tea leaves and water they look into the past, present and future.

The Baysville Library is pleased to host a screening of this National Film Board movie.
