Are you ready to read for fun and a chance to win a prize? Sign up for the TD Summer Reading program at the Library. This year's theme is "Imagine!"
Beginning on July 3rd, you can join the TD Summer Reading Program. You'll get an activity booklet, stickers, a poster, and a picture to color and put on our circulation desk once you've read five books. Every time you've read five books you get to add another figure to our desk and you get a ballot to put into our draw for a big bag of summer stuff. We'll have four draws over the summer.
All this fun is free! So come in and sign up today.

Happy Canada Day!
The library is closed on Sundays so there will be no change to the library's normal operating hours as a result of Canada Day, July 1st. Celebrate safely everyone! And remember Saturday, June 30th is the Fireworks at dusk at the dam in Baysville put on by the volunteer fire department.

Fiddle Fun!
We've added more entertainment to the comedic performance of "Her Wake!"
Now you can tap your feet to the fiddling of The Fern Glen Fiddleheads while you enjoy your dessert and tea or coffee.
Ticket sales are brisk so be sure to contact the library to reserve your seat for Thursday's performance. You won't be sorry.
(See our blog post on the play for additional information)

My How Times Have Changed
Recently a patron came across a couple old books that had been part of our library's collection. "The Frightened Lady" is copyrighted 1933. But it wasn't the books themselves that particularly interested us, it was what was inside. And not the books' contents either.
In each inside front cover there's a book plate that spells out the library policy on borrowing and on fines in very specific language. We got a chuckle out of how severe that language is.
Here it is for you to chuckle too. (You can double click on the photo to make it bigger.)
I don't think we've "debarred" anyone in awhile. Isn't it nice that times have changed?
