My How Times Have Changed

Recently a patron came across a couple old books that had been part of our library's collection. "The Frightened Lady" is copyrighted 1933. But it wasn't the books themselves that particularly interested us, it was what was inside. And not the books' contents either.

In each inside front cover there's a book plate that spells out the library policy on borrowing and on fines in very specific language. We got a chuckle out of how severe that language is.

I don't think we've "debarred" anyone in awhile. Isn't it nice that times have changed?
